ACUPUNCTURE & CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE · PORTLAND, OR

Acupuncture for the whole of who you are.

A private practice in Portland, OR. One patient at a time, ninety minutes for your first visit, and a style of care rooted in the understanding that what’s happening in your body and what’s happening in your life are rarely unrelated.

PHILOSOPHY

Chinese Medicine has always understood what our modern medical system is still working towards: that medicine works best when it’s individualized, unhurried, and treats the whole person. I practice Five Elements Acupuncture, a constitutional style of Chinese Medicine that works to identify and treat the root of what’s driving your symptoms, not just manage them on the surface. Your physical experience and your emotional life are always in conversation with each other, and the most effective care addresses both.

WHAT BRINGS PEOPLE IN

While every patient and every treatment is different, emotional and nervous system health sits at the center of much of my work. People come with a wide range of concerns — what they share is a sense that something deeper needs attention.

  • Anxiety and chronic stress

  • Depression and low mood

  • Burnout and emotional exhaustion

  • PTSD and trauma

  • Grief and loss

  • Life transitions and seasons of uncertainty

  • Insomnia and disturbed sleep

  • Irritability, emotional reactivity, and nervous system disregulation

  • Hormonal shifts and cycle health

  • Perimenopause and menopause

  • Fertility, Pregnancy and Postpartum support

  • Chronic pain and fatigue

  • Digestive health

  • Immune support

If you don’t see your concern listed, please reach out. Five Element Acupuncture treats the person, not the diagnosis — most people find there’s a place for them here.

You're managing anxiety or depression alongside therapy and something that works alongside it

THIS PRACTICE IS FOR YOU IF

You’ve felt rushed, unheard, or only partially addressed by other care

You feel like you're managing symptoms but not actually getting to the root

You sense what’s happening in your body and what’s happening in your inner life are connected

You're curious about Chinese Medicine and ready to explore what it might offer you

You're navigating a season of transition and want grounded, unhurried support

WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK WITH ME

One patient. Full Presence. Every time.

I see one person at a time; no rotating rooms, no split attention. Your first visit is 1.5-2 hours: part conversation, part treatment. I work through the lens of Five Element Acupuncture, a style of Chinese Medicine that addresses the root patterns beneath your symptoms rather than managing them on the surface.

What drew me to this medicine — and what keeps me here — is its foundational belief that the body is innately capable of healing. My job isn't to fix you. It's to help your body, mind & spirit find its way back.

What patients say

  • Rebecca

“She’s helped me navigate anxiety, perimenopause shifts, insomnia, and immune support. As a mom herself, she understands how stress, hormones, and sleep disruption actually show up in real life, not just in theory. If you’re looking for acupuncture that feels personal, responsive, and energetically dialed in, I can’t recommend her enough.”

  • Emily

“There was something so grounding about receiving care from someone who deeply understood what I was going through, not just clinically but personally. Emily's warmth made every session feel like more than just treatment, it felt like genuine care from someone who saw me as a whole person.

  • Nicole

“Emily’s presence is warm and grounded. She immediately made me feel welcome and comfortable. I appreciated the curiosity, time and attention she gave during the intake process, which felt more like a friendly conversation than a clinical question and answer session. I felt deeply cared for in the session itself and afterwards. Emily followed up, offering additional insight and recommendations with genuine kindness. She also gave me a great referral to a complimentary practitioner, which I really appreciated—that her vision of my wellbeing included what she could offer and beyond.”

  • Elizabeth

“Emily paid me a house visit when I was just three months postpartum, and the level of care and attentiveness she gave me was unparalleled. It was such a restorative experience — exactly what my body needed at that stage of recovery. I'm so grateful I found her.”

  • Christian

“She will sit in anything with you. She evokes an ease and comfort in the treatment room while paying close attention to detail that simply is not offered by most practitioners.”

  • Lauren

“Emily is by far the most caring, nurturing and intuitive. You step into a room with her and feel like you're being truly seen, heard and hugged."

  • Vicki

“I am so grateful for all the guidance and healing Emily provided, and most of all for bringing me back to feeling like myself again — a new, more focused and relaxed me.”

  • Will

“Her ability to listen to me, ask heartfelt questions, and exemplify her healing mastery offered me a safe space to navigate the challenges in my life at that time.”

  • Kathryn

“What a gift to find such a caring, genuine, intelligent, and intuitive practitioner who provides unconditional support for me and my family members”
